Click on the link above for today’s starter.

Your learning for today is about converting between pounds and kilograms. You will be using conversion to solve problems.

Pounds and kilograms

Year 6 Maths

Let’s play the classic game of countdown. Set a timer to help you do the calculations at speed. You could set it to 1, 2, 3 or even 5 minutes. I like to choose one or two larger numbers from the top line. Give yourself 10 points for finding the solution. 5 points for being within 5 of the answer and 1 point for being within 10 of the answer. Once you have 50 points, pat yourself on the back and call it a day – Rachel Riley is proud of you.

Year 5/6 Reading

Your learning today is all about inference. Watch this video to find out more.

Year 5/6 Spanish

Today we are continuing with our Spanish skills from last week. Learn how to say your birthday and other phrases in this lesson. Buena Suerte (means good luck…I think!)

Today’s Thursday message comes in the form of a friendly reminder: it’s Father’s Day on Sunday! (Dads, if you are reading this – pass the phone/tablet/laptop to someone else!)

I’m sure your dads would love it if you made them a Father’s Day card! I have attached some colouring templates that you can colour in if you have easy access to a printer, or if you love drawing (like I know a lot of you do!), you could design your own card – perhaps draw a picture of you and your family or make a list of all the things you love about your dad.  If you would like to try something a bit more adventurous or have a bit more time to spare, why don’t you try making an origami card? This video explains the instructions step by step, and all you need is paper and colouring pens/pencils!  Easy origami shirts I have tried the video and had to try a few different sizes of paper before I was happy – I found that A5 worked best (half the size of an A4 piece of paper).

Hello Year 3/4!

Have you ever heard of ‘a random act of kindness’? Whether what you do is big or small, every act can go a long way. The smallest thing can make someone’s day and completely change how they are feeling! Your challenge for today is to do just that! Can you perform a random act of kindness? Here are some of my examples to get you started:

  1. Compliment someone (maybe even a sibling!)
  2. Leave a nice message on a post-it note for someone else to find.
  3. Offer to help your parents with something e.g. making lunch, gardening, cleaning.
  4. Give someone in your family a HUGE hug ‘just because’.

Keep active:

If you like dance, then you’ll love to follow the video clip and learn some cool hip hop moves on iMoves. This week’s theme is hip hop: Hip Hop dance challenge.
